Day 01: Cochin International Airport
On arrival in Cochin you will be transferred to your hotel in Alleppey. Check-into the backwaters resort and enjoy some R&R by the pool. Later an introduction with other riders who will join you for the next two weeks on your motorcycle tour to Kerala. Evening wonder and Finish off the day with a welcome dinner and some beers.
Day 02: Alleppey (free day).
A leisurely breakfast and later we start our Enfields to make them friendly by a test ride along the coast and explore Alleppey by visiting fishing villages, backwaters, lighthouses and beaches surrounded by endless palm trees. In the evening you can have many things of interest.
Day 03: Alleppey – Kumily (150 km)
An early breakfast, Start riding along the backwaters at least for few kilometres before start the mountains narrow street roads of the Cardamom Hills. Riding up on the empty, well-surfaced narrow street type roads until you reach the kumily. On arrival check-into the hotel and relax. Evening wonder around the town and explore Kumily.
Day 04: Kumily (free day)
Today is a free day, so you can decide what you want to do. If you would like, there is an early 6 am start to take the Periyar Lake boat trip to see the wild elephants. You may prefer to rise a little later and just stroll around the town and visit Elephant Breeding center for an Elephant ride. Later visit the spices plantations to know more about their farming and do some organic spice shopping and enjoy the atmosphere.
Day 05: Kumily – Kodaikanal (150 km)
An early breakfast, riding among the mountain, an up & down narrow street well maintained roads. We take a stop for traditional Tamil (local cuisine) lunch at the foot of the Palani Hills. Start again riding on the uphill for the hill station of Kodaikanal at 2000 m – on arrival check-into hotel and relax. Later we explore Kodaikanal & its real beauty. Overnight in Kodaikanal.
Day 06: Kodaikanal – Munnar (165 km)
An early breakfast and hit the roads again riding back downhill for few kilometers and again uphill through 17 hairpin bends. This is where you fell in love with the real beauty of Kerala’s nature and the western ghat. This is the start of a road of never-ending tea plantations. A break for tea on the edge of the world’s largest tea estate – Tata. There’s a lovely view over Devikulam Lake. Afterwards we carry on to the hill station of Munnar.
Day 07: Munnar (free day)
Explore the beauty of Munnar. Riding among the tea estate surrounded by lush green tea plantation. This is really beyond our imagination, also ride on the beautiful road down to Marayoor, or to the Mattupetty Dam and up to Top Station. Later visit to the tea museum and maybe a jeep tour to the highest tea estates in the world.
Day 08: Munnar – Ooty (250 km)
Leaving Munnar, ride through Eravikulam Park, with its abundance of monkeys and scattering of elephants, leopards and tigers. Pass through Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, stopping for tea at Marayoor. Look out for herds of wild elephants sauntering across the road. Then descend to the plains of Tamil Nadu stopping for a late lunch. Finally we ride up the Nilgiri Hills, with hairpin bends aplenty, to a height of 2000m.
Day 09: Ooty – Masinagudi (50 km)
An early wakeup and explore Ooty by motorcycle and on foot. Later Ride up to the Dodabetta Peak the highest point for fantastic views, or Avalanche Point. Named for the snow and an avalanche hundreds of years ago! Visit the botanical gardens, churches, tea gardens and shops. This is a final mountain ride down a steep ghat road with over 40 hairpins. We reach Masinagudi in time for lunch. Here spend a pleasant afternoon by the pool or you can go for tigers & wildlife jeep safari in the forest.
Day 10: Masinagudi – Wayanad (100 km)
Today’s ride gonna be a bit scary, we ride through the jungle of “a three-state hidden gem” Our ride from Masinagudi to Wayanad, located in the southern Indian states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. The asphalt road continues for kilometers, surrounded on both sides by woodlands. Tall trees resembling those found in Kerala gradually give place to a varied environment. We might be seen some wild residents such as deer and peacocks and may even catch a glimpse of the beautiful tiger. Caution is suggested, however, because the route passes through the heart of the jungle, demanding respect for the untamed life within.
Day 11: Wayanad – Chavakkad Beach (180 km)
An Early breakfast and start riding downhill the ghats and avoiding the Calicut traffic jam, we reach Guravayoor by late afternoon. This is one of the most famous temples and pilgrimage town in South India. Enjoy a quiet stretch of coastal road to a beautiful beach resort. Later we explore some renowned temples. Walking beside the beach and visit fish market.
Day 12 Chavakkad Beach – Athirapilly (100 km)
After breakfast we head off to the small village of Athirappilly, is a tiny hamlet bordering the Sholayar forest famous for Kerala’s largest waterfall (at 80 feet height) on the river Chalakkudy which originates from the upper reaches of the Western Ghats at the entrance to the Sholayar ranges. Explore the Kerala’s largest waterfall and surroundings.
Day 13: Athirappilly (free day)
After breakfast we start exploring the entire Athirappilly’s famous tourist places, later ride to kodanad, this is a forestry department kraal where orphaned baby elephants are rescued, cared for and trained for a working life. You may join in the daily bathing and rub down in the river! After visit Kodanad Elephant Training Centre, ride back to the hotel.
Day 14: Athirappilly – Cochin (70 km)
Your final ride takes you back to Cochin. Returns your bike, then there’s time for sightseeing and shopping in the old town. Famous churches, cathedrals, synagogues and palaces are all within walking distance. The sights and smells of the famous Chinese fishing nets and the market, with teas and spices, make this an enjoyable wander. Take a stroll around the fort before this evening’s farewell dinner.
Day 15: Cochin
Your tour to Kerala is finally come to an ends, have a delicious breakfast and later you will be individually transferred to the airport for your onwards journey or fly back to home...
