Day 01 – Arrival At Chennai International Airport
Warm welcome by the representative of INDIA-BIKE-TOURS at Chennai Airport. shuttle bus will pick you up and drop you off at the Hotel in Mahabalipuram. An introduction with the INDIA-BIKE-TOURS team at the Hotel. Evening wander and followed by a welcome dinner.
Day 02 – Explore Mahabalipuram
Today we will have a short test-ride, Right after breakfast we will kick start our Royal Enfield motorcycle and riding through the small villages of Mahabalipuram or Mamallapuram. Mahabalipuram is an ancient town and UNESCO world heritage site in Tamil Nadu, we will visit Shore Temple. The Shore temple is located on the beach, it is built during the 7th century by the Pallava dynasty. Also, we will visit "Five Rathas" & Arjuna's Penance and more. After that we will spend our day at beach.
Day 03 – Mahabalipuram to Puducherry – 100 Kms.
An early start riding towards Puducherry, exploring the French colony, Puducherry was once ruled by French and we can see a lot of French Architecture, We will visit Sri Aurobindo Ashram, this is one of the most visited places in Puducherry, the ashram is a retreat for your spiritual needs. After that we will visit "Eglise de Notre Dame des Anges", also known as Our Lady of Angels Church is one of the most popular places in Pondy. We also visit Puducherry Museum, we can explore the collections of French roots, Arikamedu Roman settlement and stone carved statues. In the evening we will also visit a few beaches in & around Puducherry.
Day 04 - Puducherry to Kolli Hills – 260 Kms.
After exploring entire Puducherry, we will ride towards Kolli Hills. Kolli Hills or Kolli Malai is situated in Namakkal district of Tamil Nadu at the height of 1350 Mtrs. Kolli Hills is a remote hill station without much commercialized and untouched. The road to Kolli Hills is full of hairpin bends and country roads of Southern India, on the way we will ride through the villages, meet the locals and enjoy some authentic south Indian cuisine. The last stretch will be little off-road and we may enjoy riding through red sands and spice plantations. By early evening we will reach Kolli Hills.
Day 05 – Kolli Hills to Ooty – 260 Kms.
On day 5 of South India motorcycle tour, we will be riding to "Coonoor/Ooty", officially called Queen of Hills and famous for one of the best Tea Plantations in Southern India. First, we will ride down to the Namakkal district by navigating mighty 70 Hairpin curves from Kolli Hills. Ooty is a hill station situated at the height of 2240 Mtrs, Ooty is the place where Western & Eastern Ghats meet. Before reaching Ooty we will ride through some of the beautiful roads of Southern India, again we will try to avoid taking highways and explore our journey through back roads of South India. After navigating about 30 hairpin curves we will reach Ooty by early evening. Weather will be pleasant all year, so better to wear winter wear to protect yourself.
Day 06 – Ooty free day
Exploring – Ooty a Queen of Hills – Early morning breakfast and Heading off to The Railway station for a mesmerizing Toy Train journey as you board on the Ooty to Coonoor Toy Train. The almost nostalgic toy train will give you a revitalizing travel experience moving through lush green tea estates, thick forests, tall eucalyptus trees and lofty mountains. Covering a distance of 19 kms the Ooty to Coonoor route offers the most spectacular scenery along its way. The journey is slow and gives you ample opportunity to discover nature’s bounties. Total 3 hours toy train journey will take you through an enlivening excursion where you get immersed in the beauty of the quaint place. Meandering through tunnels and crossing the bridges the journey trails you back in time. Ooty is a hilly paradise surrounded by breathtaking forests, lakes, gardens and waterfalls. In afternoon we will visit at tea factory in Ooty and back to Hotel have some rest, in the evening take a tuk-tuk ride for a Dinner. Overnight at Hotel in Ooty.
Day 07 – Ooty – Masinagudi – Mysore – 270 Kms.
Today we will ride through the lush greenery forest – We will start our riding towards Masinagudi to Mysore, start ascending down towards Madumalai via beautiful tea plantations and some amazing sceneries of Southern India. Today most of the roads we will be riding on through Tiger Reserve! to begin with, from Madumalai tiger reserve, I am sure you will enjoy this one hour riding through the national parks rather than riding in the highways. We will reach Mysore at the late afternoon. Overnight at Hotel Mysore.
Day 08 – Historical Day
An early start with breakfast, today we spend our whole day in Mysore city and visit at some historical places. We will first visit at Mysore Palace, also known as Amba Vilas Palace, is a historical palace and a royal residence. It used to be the official residence of the Wadiyar dynasty and the seat of the Kingdom of Mysore. The palace is in the centre of Mysore, and faces the Chamundi Hills eastward. After that we will ride for St.Joseph's Cathedral is a Majestic Neo-Gothic cathedral known for its airy sanctuary, stained glass & soaring twin spires. Rest of the time at Hotel with chilled kingfisher.
Day 09 - Mysore to Shimoga Forest – 245 Kms.
Today we are going to ride through the natural beauty! We cover more than 250 Kms over the Deccan plateau on easy, smooth roads and arrive at Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary by the end of the day. The ochre hues of the plains and rocks surrounding Hampi give way to stunning blues and greens of the forests and rivers covering this region.
Day 10 – Shimoga Forest to Hampi (Hospet) – 260 Kms.
Heading for another ancient wonder: Hampi. An outstanding UNESCO World Heritage Site, the capital of the last Hindu Vijayanagara Empire, the “City of Victory” is a vast archaeological complex which extends over remarkable terrain amidst hundreds of rice paddies and banana plantations. Hampi will reveal its full charm to you the following day.
Day 11 - Explore Hampi (Hospet)
After a long ride, today will leave our motorcycles at Hotel and explore Hampi via four wheels, after breakfast, Our driver will take us to some important places in Hampi. Hampi is a UNESCO world heritage site situated at the banks of Tungabadra River. Once upon a time, Hampi is the capital of the Vijayanagara Empire, which is also called as one of the richest dynasties in ancient times. We will visit Vijaya Vittala Temple, this 15th-century temple considered one of the largest historical structures in Hampi. Then Virupaksha Temple, which is built during the 7th century and one of the oldest functional temples in India. After exploring some important temples we also visit Lotus temple, Hampi Bazar and other important ancient ruins of Hampi.
Day 12 – Hampi (Hospet) to Badami – 150 Kms.
An early start for Badami, a bucket list destination for everyone. By the end of the day, we will reach Badami, is an archaeological site, a wonderful example of traditional craftsmanship. These sculpted cave-temples overlook the river, and even if “old stones” aren’t really your cup of tea, you’re sure to be awe-struck by the artistry involved in creating this religious architecture.
Day 13 - Badami to Dandeli Tiger Reserve – 180 Kms.
We start the day visiting the Badami caves, then ride towards western Ghat for Dandeli National Park. Dandeli National Park is situated in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka state in South India. This national park is also declared as a tiger reserve under project tiger in 2006. Dandeli Tiger Reserve is famous for Black Panther and other wild animals like tigers, Elephants, Indian Gaur, etc. Most of today's ride will be through small villages and endless forests, by the evening we will reach Dandeli and we will be staying in the heart of tiger reserve in jungle cottages.
Day 14 - Dandeli Tiger Reserve to Panjim (Goa) – 200 Kms.
We will start our last day of South India Motorcycle Tour by riding from Dandeli to Goa, after breakfast we will ride towards Anshi national park and enter Goa state. We will be riding through the dense forest between the buffer zone of Tiger Reserve for about 50Miles, there are only a few human settlements in between this stretch and we can expect some amazing single lane forest tracks. After riding for about 80Miles we will enter Goa state and ride further towards Panjim, which is the capital of Goa State, by evening we will reach Panjim.
Day 15 - Explore Goa
After reaching Panjim, today we will leave our Royal Enfield Motorcycles here and set ourselves to explore the city of Goa by four wheels. We will start our day after breakfast, to begin with, we will visit "Basilica Of Bom Jesus" then "Fort Aguada" and also some magnificent Hindu Temples. Or you can relax at our beach resort, and also do some shopping, grab some beer in the shacks or just sit facing the sea and get some vitamin D. We will meet again for farewell dinner and share photos or videos of the entire South India Motorcycle Tour.
Day 16 - Departure from Panjim
After Breakfast, we take a Group photo before end this Tour and individually transferred at the goa international airport according to your scheduled flight back home with lot’s of south India motorcycle Tour photos and beautiful memories.
